Gardening events: Christmas workshops and demonstrations

  • Anne Hester, of AOIFA, will give a Christmas gala demonstration for the Ladysbridge & District Flower & Garden Club on Monday, November 18, at 8pm at the Garryvoe Hotel. Non-members, €10.
  • Mallow Flower & Garden Club’s Christmas gala demonstration, presented by Mary Keogh, AOIFA, takes place on Tuesday, November 19, 8pm, at Mallow GAA Complex.
  • Conna & District Flower & Garden Club will present its charity Christmas gala, ‘Festive Magic at Christmas Time’, by Eileen O Brien, AOIFA, in Conna Hall on Wednesday, November 20, at 8pm. Admission, €15, includes supper.
  • Dungarvan Flower & Garden Club is holding their Charity Christmas Gala Flower Arranging Demonstration with Lorraine O'Brien and Harumi Langford on Wednesday, November 20 at The Park Hotel, Dungarvan at 8pm. Tickets €10, in aid of West Waterford Rapid Response Vehicle.
  • Ballincollig Flower and Garden Club are hosting a GALA Christmas Floral demonstration by Margaret Ahern, AOIFA on November 21 8pm at Gaelscoil Ui Riordain (P31 V242) supporting charities AsIam and Marymount. Tickets €20 including refreshments, door prizes and trade stands.
  • Cobh Flower and Horticulture Club’s Christmas demonstration, by Malcolm Kitt, takes place in Cobh GAA hall on Wednesday, November 20, at 8pm. Admission, €10.
  • Ardfield/Rathbarry Gardening Club will host its Christmas Demonstration presented by Sheila Gilbert on Thursday, November 21 at 8pm in the Parish Hall. Admission €10.
  • The Owenabue Garden and Flower Club will host A Floral Christmas Demonstration by Chris Bailey on Monday, November 25 at 8pm in St Mary's NS, Waterpark, Carrigaline. It includes the club's Christmas Supper, raffle, plant and produce sales table. Entry is €10 and will be donated to AsIAm – Ireland’s Autism Charity.
  • The Lough Flower and Garden Club welcomes Sheila Gilbert AOIFA at 7pm on Tuesday, November 26. Venue: The SMA Parish Centre, Wilton. (Opposite CUH). Visitors €10. All welcome. Members €5.
  • The Cork Alpine Hardy Plant Society hosts a talk by Derry Watkins, of Special Plants (UK), on ‘Summer Flowers, from Seed’ on Thursday, November 28, at Scoil Mhuire Naofa, Station Road, Carrigtwohill, Co Cork. Visitors, €10.
