Ulster Rugby confirm that centre Ben Carson has penned a new three year-extension to keep him at the province until at least 2028.
The Lisburn man has made a breakthrough this season making an impact in his first senior start when he scored a second-half try against the Bulls in Loftus Versfeld Stadium in October.
Carson has added seven caps to day notably scoring a brace of tries against Leinster in the Kingspan Stadium last month.
Carson was injured in Ulster's round one Champions Cup game against Toulouse and remains a doubt for his availability for their URC interpro against Munster on Friday evening at Kingspan Stadium (7.35pm).
The 22-year-old won an U20 Six Nations Grand Slam under Head Coach Richie Murphy having formed a winning partnership will fellow Ulster centre Jude Postlewaite.
Carson started his rugby career with Lisburn RFC and went on to play with Wallace High School. He gained experience at club level with Banbridge RFC and more recently Ballynahinch RFC.
Speaking on his new extension Carson is excited for what the next three years will bring.
“I’m so excited for what the future holds. It’s been a dream of mine since I was young to play for Ulster, and this season I have earned more opportunities to stake my claim.
“For me, I want to keep developing my game and establish myself within the team in the months ahead.”
