West Ham United are reportedly the latest Premier League club interested in taking Brighton and Hove Albion’s out-of-favour Evan Ferguson on loan.

Brighton boss Fabian Hurzeler admitted they were attempting to find the “right solution” for the 20-year-old forward amid his struggles to rediscover the form shown before last year’s serious Achilles injury.

Fulham were said to be readying a loan bid and now Talksport are claiming their fellow Londoners West Ham have joined the suitors.

Hammers chief Julen Lopetegui is the latest manager under pressure, not helped by the absence of strikers Michail Antonio and Jarrod Bowen. Niclas Füllkrug’s arrival from Champions League runners-up in pre-season hasn’t worked out either.

Arsenal are long-time admirers of the Irish forward but are more likely to swoop for an in-form option such as Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak to accelerate their Premier League title quest.

Ferguson, currently sidelined with an ankle knock, has started just two league games for the Seagulls this term, coupled with 10 appearances as a substitute.

An obligation-to-buy clause, possibly up to €72.3m (£60m), could introduce a complication to any temporary deal.
