Cork City have announced that Cian Coleman, Barry Coffey and Niall Brookwell have departed the club following the expiration of their contracts.
Coleman, who came through the club's academy, was a fan favourite as he captained City to the 2022 and 2024 First Division titles. He made over 100 appearances and scored nine goals since he returned to the Rebel Army in 2020.
Coffey initially joined the club on loan from Celtic midway through the 2021 season before he signed a permanent deal and he also made over 100 appearances for the Leesiders, scoring 23 times while Brookwell made 15 league appearances during his only season at the club in 2024.
"We would like to thank the three players for their contribution to the club, and wish them the very best of luck going forward," the club posted in an official statement.
City have also confirmed that Harvey Skieters has signed his first professional contract with the club.
The 19-year-old, who was named City’s Men's under 20 Player of the Year last season, made his first team debut in April when he came on as a substitute away to Finn Harps and he would go on to feature seven more times during the promotion winning campaign.
“I’m delighted to sign my first professional deal with the club," he said.
"I have worked very hard for this opportunity and I am proud to sign for the next two years.”
Manager Tim Clancy added: “Harvey is another exciting young player that we feel has a big future ahead of him.
"He had a fantastic season in the academy last year, and also got a taste for first team football, so knows what is expected of a Cork City player.
"He’s the latest in a long line of academy players to be rewarded with a professional contract, which again highlights the great work being done at our underage sides.”
