Cork City have completed the signing of winger Alex Nolan from St Patrick's Athletic.

The 21-year-old joins the Leesiders following a promising season with St Pats, where he made 22 league appearances overall and also featured in the Richmond Park club's UEFA Europa Conference League campaign.

Speaking to the club's website on Monday afternoon, Nolan said: "I’m delighted to have signed for a big club like Cork City.

"It’s a massive year ahead for the club and I can’t wait to get going. Hope to see everyone in a packed out Turner’s Cross very soon.”

City manager Tim Clancy added: “Alex is a very exciting young winger who has been in high demand, so we’re delighted to get this deal done.

"Although he is still a very young player, he has been a part of a Cup winning side and has featured in a European campaign, so he knows the standards that are expected as we return to the Premier Division.

"I know exactly what kind of player we’re getting in Alex, and what he will add to the squad for next season.

"We are in discussions with a number of players at the minute, and are hopeful of confirming further additions to the squad in the near future.”

City also confirmed that defender Harry Nevin has agreed a new contract ahead of the 2025 Season.

The former academy defender returned to City ahead of the start of 2024, making 17 league appearances before having his season cut short due to injury.

Clancy said: "He’s recovering from that well, and was one of the players we were keen to get tied down for 2025.

"He’s another local lad who gives his all for the shirt and knows what it means to play for City. He’s still only 20, but we know he is a player with a lot of potential and plenty of ability, so it is a big season for both Harry and the club, and we can’t wait to have him back fitter than ever."
