Eddie Hearn says that Katie Taylor's next fight will likely be held in the US in June. The promoter has ruled out the Bray boxer's next bout being the trilogy fight against Chantelle Cameron.
"Katie Taylor due to fight probably now in June, early June," Hearn told iFL TV.
"We're working on some very big fights for Katie Taylor.
"There is a chance she may fight in America and yes, we are working away aggressively."
10 months ago, Cameron inflicted a first professional defeat on Taylor, one she avenged with victory over the English fighter in November. Croke Park was discussed as a possible venue for a third bout but that did not materialise.
Earlier his month, Cameron said that he had agreed a "massive purse reduction" to ensure the fight took place but added it was not happening and that was "down to Katie and her team"
Asked if another rematch between Taylor and Cameron is on the backburner for the moment, Hearn replied: "I think so.
"I think the June fight for Katie Taylor will probably be someone else.
"I want to make the Katie Taylor-Chantelle Cameron fight.
"Unquestionably, Katie Taylor wants that fight and they must fight again before Katie Taylor exits the sport.
"She's not anytime soon, but who knows how long it's going to be and Katie Taylor will 100% fight Chantelle Cameron again."
Hearn added that Matchroom Boxing is "looking for opportunities" for Cameron with those including fighting Natasha Jonas or the winner of this weekend's clash between Terri Harper and Sandy Ryan.
