Armagh and Tyrone triumphed in the Electric Ireland Ulster MFC quarter-finals to set up semi-final clashes with Donegal and Derry respectively next weekend.

Eoin Duffy laid on a Man of the Match performance to help Armagh to a 1-13 to 0-6 victory over Monaghan at the Athletic Grounds, hitting 1-4.

He flicked home the only goal of the game early on from Keelan McEntee’s assist to give his side a platform, which they used to build up a healthy half-time lead.

Diarmuid O’Rourke and Duffy sent over points, with Killian Kearns and Cian Rafferty on target at the other end, and at the interval, the home side led by 1-5 to 0-2.

Luke McKenna and Evan Treanor were on target for the Farney side, but the Orchard lads reasserted their authority with three quickfire scores from Sean Woods, Ross Marsden and O’Rourke.

And they finished the job off in style with a couple of classy Duffy points.

Tyrone scored a 1-14 to 0-15 win over Cavan at O’Neills Healy Park, after surviving a Breffni comeback.

The home side’s dominant opening quarter saw them open up a 0-8 to 0-1 lead, with Shea McDermott, Lorcan McMurray and Seán Óg Teague hitting a couple of points each.

And they created a handful of goal chances, but Jamie Concannon and McMurray were denied by ‘keeper Cian McCOnnell.

Cavan turned the game around with an inspired revival in the closing ten minutes of the half, hitting four points on the spin, from Tadgh Sheils, Nathan Quigley, Joshua Shehu and Oisin Maguire.

The Red Hands responded with a Liam McGeary goal, but the Breffni lads responded again, with Quigley and Shehu narrowing the gap.

Tyrone led by 1-9 to 0-9 at the break, and Ryan Nwaneri made it a one point game, Cavan never managed to get their noses in front.

The loss of key players Nwaneri and Oisin Maguire to injury, and Fiachra Brady to a black card, stalled the Breffni effort, and Tyrone came strong late on with scores from McGeary and Peter McGoldrick to go four clear.

Late scores from Sheils and Shehu were not enough for Cavan, as the Red Hands advanced to the last four.
