Mick Bohan has stepped down as manager of the Dublin ladies senior football team.
Bohan was the Dubs' longest serving and most successful senior manager, guiding them to five of their six All Ireland senior crowns, with the latest coming back in August 2023.
During his second term in charge, Bohan led Dublin to a four-in-a-row of All Ireland championships (2017 to 2020) along with two NFL Division one league titles and six Leinster titles.
A statement from the Dublin LGFA reads; "Dublin LGFA can confirm that Mick Bohan has informed the Executive Committee of his decision not to have his name submitted for ratification as Dublin Ladies senior manager.
"Joe Keane, Chairperson of Dublin LGFA, has accepted this decision. Joe Keane on behalf of the Executive Committee would like to thank Mick most sincerely for the professionalism, dedication and enthusiasm he gave to Dublin during his time as senior manager. Mick’s pride in the Dublin jersey was evident for all to see.
"There is no doubt that Mick Bohan has played a pivotal role in several key moments throughout our association’s history.
"Everyone involved in Dublin LGFA would like to wish Mick all the very best with his future endeavours. We are also extremely thankful to Louise and the Bohan family for their unwavering support of Dublin LGFA over the years."
Bohan added: "Since 2002, I have been involved with Dublin Football teams in some capacity, whether that be development squads, minor/U21s, DCU Sigerson and senior men and ladies teams.
"I am so thankful to have had such a fulfilling coaching career with so many great players, mentors and coaches but more importantly so many special people.
"However, I have now taken the decision to resign as Dublin manager. I have been honoured to represent Dublin during this time and the standards that we set were equally about how we represented our county as it was about winning silverware.
"These past eight years I have found myself in the privileged position as manager of the Dublin Senior Ladies Team, an incredible group of young women who show such pride in the blue and navy.
"I do believe they have changed the landscape of how ladies football is played for the better and I am so proud of how the players carried themselves both in victory and defeat.
"This city means a lot to all of us and our games are special."
The Dublin Executive Committee will now begin the process of selecting and appointing a new Dublin senior management team.
