Cork defender Laura Hayes has been crowned the PwC GPA Camogie senior player of the year at the Camogie All-Star awards.

Hayes is joined by seven of her Cork teammates, as the All-Ireland-champion Rebels claimed eight All-Star awards in total; goalkeeper Amy Lee, defenders Pamela Mackey and Laura Treacy, Ashling Thompson in the middle of the park and forwards, Saoirse McCarthy, Amy O'Connor and Katrina Mackey.

All-Ireland runners-up, Galway, won five All-Stars; Dervla Higgins, Aoife Donohue, Roisin Black, Carrie Dolan and Niamh Mallon, while Tipperary and Dublin both came away with one award each, Tipperary captain Karen Kennedy and Dublin’s defensive ace Claire Gannon.

Cork boss Ger Manley has been named manager of the year, recognising his outstanding leadership of the Rebels.

Having only been appointed in November 2023, he continued to lead a strong Cork senior team to a three-point win against Galway in the final, making it their 30th All-Ireland senior camogie title, and their second in-a-row following their 2023 success under Matthew Twomey.

The Camogie Soaring Stars team - made up of players from the premier junior and intermediate championships - includes six Cork players, four Kilkenny players, two Laois players, and one each from Offaly, Kerry and Tipperary.

Kilkenny’s Danielle Morrissey was named the intermediate player of the year while Laois’s Clodagh Tynan picked up the premier junior award.

“I would like to congratulate all of our nominees and winners of this year’s PwC Camogie All-Star awards," Brian Molloy, Uachtarán of the Camogie Association, said. "The level of talent and dedication in camogie is truly outstanding, and these awards are a tribute to the tremendous effort put in year-round. Huge sacrifices are made by each and every one of our players day in day out.

"I wish to thank our sponsors, PwC for their support. This event wouldn’t be possible without their partnership and sponsorship of the All Stars, so thank you for continuing to stand behind our elite camogie players.

"Camogie is at the heart of our communities, and this year, as we mark our 120th anniversary, we have seen that connection celebrated right around the country. Clubs everywhere have commemorated this milestone in a myriad of ways, and we are very grateful for the ongoing commitment of our volunteers and players to the promotion and development of camogie at all levels."
