2023 All-Ireland winning minor hurling manager Brian O’Connell has stepped down from his Clare role.

O’Connell spent three seasons as Clare minor hurling manager, guiding the Banner to Munster and All-Ireland silverware last year.

The 2023 final win over Galway represented only the county’s second-ever All-Ireland minor crown, while the earlier provincial final victory over Cork was the county’s fifth Munster MHC title.

O’Connell’s three-year tenure saw the county reach three successive Munster minor finals, only the third time the county managed such a feat. Either side of the all-conquering 2023 season was All-Ireland semi-final defeats to Offaly and Kilkenny respectively.

The Banner are also on the search for a new minor football manager as Dermot Coughlan has called time on his six years in the post.

Terence Fahy and Michael Neylon are staying on for 2025 as Clare U20 hurling and football managers respectively.
