Douglas native Sara Byrne secured her LET tour card after carding a four under 69 in round five of the Q-School at the Al Maaden Golf Marrakech and will be joined by Dubliner Anna Foster and Castlerock's Annabel Wilson.
Byrne finished on 12 under for the tournament in 15th. She carded four birdies on the fourth, seventh, eighth and 13th and completed the round without dropping a shot.
“Yeah I am over the moon, it doesn’t really feel like it’s real at the moment" said Byrne who capped off her final season as an amateur by winning two collegiate wins for Miami and an unbeaten run for Great Britain and Ireland in the Curtis Cup when they beat America for the first time since 2016 in Sunningdale before she turned professional in September.
“It feels absolutely amazing and to come out of that week with a full tour card is a cherry on top for an unbelievable 2024. I can tell nine-year-old Sara I did it!”
With Foster and Wilson securing cards in Morocco also this week they will all link up with Laruen Walsh.
“We knew this was going to be coming for a couple of years there was a big bunch of us ready to get out there on tour. So, to finally have a big contingent of us out on tour makes it all the sweeter really,” said Byrne.
