A man in his 40s has died following a collision involving a motorcycle and a truck at Toureenfineen in Co Cork.
The motorcyclist was killed in the incident that occurred shortly before 8am on Wednesday.
Gardaí said the man's body will be removed to Cork University Hospital where an autopsy will take place.
The road remains closed as Forensic Collision Investigators are currently carrying out their examination of the scene. Local diversions are currently in place, Gardaí added.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them. Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling in the area at the time are asked to make this available to Gardaí.

The collision comes a day after another motorcyclist was killed in a crash just outside Cork City. The man in his 20s died after his motorbike was in collision with a van in the Upper Dublin Hill area on the city's northside on Tuesday evening.
Today's collision is the second fatal collision in the country after a woman in her 20s died in Dublin.
The woman, a cyclist, died following a collision with a truck in Dun Laoghaire.
Almost 70 people have died on Irish roads so far this year.
