Gardaí are investigating a suspected vaping incident after four teenage boys fell ill at a school in Fermoy.
Gardaí said the "medical incident" occurred at Coláiste an Chraoibhín on Wednesday morning.
The four boys were assessed by ambulance crews at the scene and no further immediate medical treatment was warranted. It is believed the boys are aged between 14 and 15.
In a statement, gardaí also highlighted safety advice regarding vaping and 'cannabis-infused edibles'.
Following Garda enquiries related to the incident, a number of searches were conducted at commercial premises and residences in the Fermoy area on Thursday.
Items "of potentially evidential value" were seized and a spokesperson said some of the items are to be sent to Forensic Science Ireland (FSI) for further analysis.
Gardaí are appealing for any person with information that can assist with their investigation to contact Fermoy Garda Station on 025 82100, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station.
The Cork Education and Training Board confirmed that gardaí and emergency services "were on site at Coláiste an Chraoibhín on Wednesday in response to a medical incident at the school".
"The incident was successfully managed and Cork ETB and Coláiste an Chraoibhín would like to thank the Gardaí and the emergency services for their assistance," said a spokesperson.
