Night-time working will be implemented next week in order to facilitate surfacing works along the Dunkettle Interchange.

The proposed working hours will "minimise disruption to traffic", allowing the allocated areas to be completed immediately.

The areas to be completed include the stretch situated immediately north of the Jack Lynch Tunnel, in both directions.

The tunnel will be closed heading northbound on both Monday, November 13, and Tuesday, November 14, from 9pm to 5am.

The southbound section of the tunnel will remain open on both nights.

The main focus of the project now rests on the completion of the Link C embankment.

Currently, there is ongoing construction of the re-inforced concrete retaining wall, along with the completion of the remaining earthworks for Link C in the area east of Structure ST05.

The Link C stretch incorporates the N25 Westbound/Waterford to M8 Northbound Dublin road.

Additionally, the section of the concrete parapet railing over the Cork to Cobh railway line was successfully completed over the predicted time period.

The full extent of the concrete parapet railing is expected to be complete by Friday, November 17.

Overall, the Dunkettle Interchange works remain on target for completion by February 2024.

Detailed route map information and updates on future link openings and diversions are available on dunkettle.ie.
