The popular Rumley's Open Farm, located just outside Cork City, has been put up for sale, its owners have confirmed.
Boasting a wide range of rare and unusual animals, as well as activities such as crazy golf, pedal karting, and zip-lining, the open farm had been a popular location for outings for families in Cork and further afield since it first opened back in 2007.
After three years of catering for school tours, birthdays, and other occasions, the farm was expanded and redesigned in 2010, with new buildings and attractions added, along with some further exotic animals such as llamas, alpacas, chinchillas, and water buffalo.
In a post shared on social media on Sunday, Ivan Rumley, the farm's owner said health reasons had prompted him to make the decision to sell the open farm.
"It is with great regret and due to health reasons, that I have decided to put the open farm up for sale," he said.
"Running a busy working farm alongside the open farm is proving to be too much."
Mr Rumley thanked everyone who supported the open farm over the years, saying it was they who "made it the success that it became".
"I think that now is the time for someone new to take over and take it to the next level," he added.
"Once again, my most sincere appreciation to you all. I hope that you all have a very Happy Christmas."
