The husband of Tina Satchwell, whose body was found wrapped in plastic and buried beneath a concrete floor in her home, was remanded in custody for three weeks charged with her murder.

Richard Satchwell, 57, appeared at Clonmel District Court via videolink from Limerick Prison.

Solicitor Aidan Leahy, acting for solicitor Eddie Burke, applied for Mr Satchwell to be remanded in custody by consent until November 7.

Judge Cephas Power remanded him in custody for three weeks until November 7 when he is to appear again before Clonmel District Court for formal Director of Public Prosecution directions.

Mr Satchwell, who wore a grey tracksuit, was then removed from the video link room in Limerick Prison.

Ms Satchwell was 45 when she disappeared in March, 2017.

More than six years later, her mummified remains were found buried underneath a stairwell in the home she had shared with her husband in Youghal, Co Cork, last week.

On Saturday, Mr Satchwell had been remanded in custody following a special sitting of Cashel District Court.

The court heard he had been charged with her murder.

Following his charge under caution in Cobh Garda Station on Friday evening at 8.03pm, Detective Garda David Kelleher said Mr Satchwell responded to the murder charge: "Guilty or not guilty — guilty."

Some 500 people gathered at a vigil in Mrs Satchwell’s hometown of Fermoy on Monday night to remember the bubbly, blonde woman who loved fashion, her dogs and her family.
