Two brothers have been charged with endangerment of life in the course of an alleged arson at a house on Dean Street in Cork.
Sergeant Cormac Crotty brought the charges against Robert and Michael Crinnion at Cork District Court on Friday.
They had been charged previously with arson in respect of the alleged incident in October.
On Friday, they were charged with possession of a hatchet, causing criminal damage, and acting in a manner that endangered life whereby someone could have been killed or seriously injured by the alleged arson.
Sgt Crotty said that a book of evidence would be available to be served on the accused next week on January 9.
Judge Mary Dorgan remanded the two brothers in custody until then.
Robert Crinnion, age 39, of Blackwater Grove, Togher, Cork, was originally charged with arson by Sgt Crotty.
The charge states that on August 4, 2023, at a house on Dean Street, Cork, he allegedly committed arson by causing fire damage to the hallway, sitting room door, bathroom door, stairs, bannister, dressing gown and bath mat, intending or being reckless as to whether such property would be damaged. He was represented by Shane Collins-Daly solicitor.
The defendant’s brother, 33-year-old Michael Crinnion, of the same address, faced the same charge and was represented by Eddie Burke, solicitor.
