Gardaí have arrested a second man, aged in his 30s, in connection with the death of a man in his 60s following an incident in New Ross, Co Wexford, on New Year’s Eve.
The man was detained yesterday evening and is being held at a garda station in the east of the country under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984.
Another man, also in his 30s, was arrested earlier and remains in garda custody.
The Office of the State Pathologist and the local coroner have been notified, and an autopsy is scheduled to take place this morning.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and are seeking any camera footage, including dashcam recordings, from the Cluain Fada area of New Ross at the time of the incident.
