Witnesses Their Forward Appeal For Gardaí To E Are Now Renewing

Two teenagers have been arrested following the discovery of a man with serious injuries in Co Westmeath.

The man, aged in his 30s, was found on Grove Street in Mullingar in the early hours of Saturday, December 1.

The injured man remains in a critical condition in Beaumont Hospital.

Two boys, both aged 17, were arrested on Wednesday morning in connection with the incident.

They are currently being held at a Garda station in the Midlands under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984.

Gardaí said they were investigating "all the circumstances surrounding the discovery" of the body and were renewing their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

In a statement, a Garda spokesperson said: "Any persons who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) from the areas around Grove Street and Mullingar Town centre between 12.30am and 1.30am are asked to make this footage available to investigating gardaí.

"Anyone with any information is asked to contact Mullingar Garda Station on 01 666 9000, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda station."
