A man has been arrested on suspicion of money laundering offences following the seizure of cocaine and cannabis worth around €100,000 in Co Tipperary.
Shortly before 9pm on Tuesday, gardaí stopped a vehicle on the M8 near Thurles, and during the course of a search, over €27,000 of cash was discovered concealed in the vehicle.
Electronic items were also seized, along with a small quantity of cocaine.
The driver of the vehicle, a man, aged in his 30s, was arrested, and was held at a Garda station in Co Tipperary.
In a follow-up search of a home in Tipperary town later that evening, gardaí seized €70,000 of suspected cocaine and €30,000 of suspected cannabis.
A "significant amount" of drugs paraphernalia was also found.
On Wednesday, investigating gardaí also seized a car in Limerick in connection with the money laundering investigation.
The man has since been charged and is due to appear before Nenagh District Court on Thursday morning.
