Man arrested as 25kg of cannabis discovered in passenger's luggage at Dublin Airport

A man has been arrested after 25kg of cannabis worth around €500,000 was discovered in the luggage of a passenger who landed at Dublin Airport. 

Revenue officers, with the assistance of detector dog Jack, discovered the drugs concealed in vacuum-packed packages within the baggage of a passenger who had disembarked a flight from Thailand.

The cannabis was seized and a male in his 30s was arrested was subsequently arrested by An Garda Síochána. 

He is currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice (Drug Trafficking) Act 1996 at a garda station in Dublin.

A Revenue spokesperson said investigations are ongoing.
