Gardaí appeal for witnesses after serious hit-and-run in Dublin

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run incident that left a man seriously injured in Rathmines, Dublin, on Sunday night.

The crash occurred at approximately 8.45pm on Lower Rathmines Road. 

Emergency services responded to the scene after a car struck a pedestrian, a man in his 40s, and failed to remain at the site of the crash. 

The injured man was transported to St James’s Hospital by ambulance, where he is being treated for serious injuries.

The area has been sealed off for forensic examination, and traffic diversions are in place.

Gardaí are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or may have camera footage, including motorists with dash-cam footage from the area at the time, to assist with the investigation.
