A man in his 40s will appear in court on Monday charged in connection with the hit-and-run incident in Dublin last week which killed a married couple and injured their daughter and another pedestrian.
Anthony Hogg, 40, and his 39-year-old wife Georgina Hogg Moore, were struck by a vehicle at around 5.45pm on St Stephen's Day.
They had been crossing a road at Blanchardstown Shopping Centre with their daughter Becky.
They were on their way to their home in the nearby Whitestown estate at the time.
A number plate found at the scene led gardaí to a car suspected of having been involved in the incident.
People left floral tributes at the scene of the collision throughout Friday, and 24 hours after the crash a group of more than 50 people, some holding balloons, held a vigil in memory of the couple who had been killed.
The arrested man was detained hours after the crash.
He has since been charged and will appear before the Criminal Courts of Justice district court in Dublin this morning.
A second individual, a woman, has also been arrested.
Nearly €30,000 had been donated by almost 1,000 people towards a €40,000 GoFundme "Ryan & Becky’s Future" for the couple's children.
The appeal states: "This GoFundMe has been created to help provide for Ryan and Becky’s future, ensuring they have the care, resources, and opportunities their parents would have wanted for them.
"While nothing can replace the love and presence of Georgina and Anto, we hope to ease the financial burden and create a foundation for their children to thrive."
Meanwhile, Marguerita O’Rourke, the young woman who died in a crash in Limerick on December 21, was laid to rest on Sunday.
A 42-year old man is currently before the courts charged with dangerous driving causing Ms O’Rourke’s death, as well as a number of other charges.
