One little boy with a very big heart will be caroling this Christmas in order to raise funds for children in Palestine.
Six-year-old Tom Flynn from Terenure in Dublin is "really worried that Santa won't come" to these children, and wants to show his support.
Tom's Mum, Rebecca, said her son asked if they could go caroling this year and "ask people for money to help the kids in Palestine".
So this Friday, December 20, Tom will be joined by his cousins, and some of his friends, as they set up shop in Terenure.
Tom has hand-picked five songs that the children will be singing, and they include Jingle Bells, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Let It Snow, We Wish You A Merry Christmas, and Deck the Halls.
At time of writing, Tom's GoFundMe campaign has raised €1,495 from 68 donations, despite only having a €100 goal.
In an update on the page, Ms Flynn said they were "blown away by the response to this so far".
"Thank you so much everyone for your generosity.
"I know times are tight, and it’s an expensive time of year, but even just €1 would make such a difference.
"Please give whatever you can.
All proceeds made from Tom's Carols for Palestine will be donated to the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.
"Thank you and Merry Christmas," the update concluded.
Earlier this week, it was announced that Ireland remains the world's most generous country on GoFundMe, for the sixth year in a row.
According to the crowdfunding platform, almost €50m was raised for causes across the country in 2024.
This year, more than 15,000 fundraisers were launched nationwide, with more than 850,000 donations.
Among the stories that captured hearts were efforts to rebuild a family home lost to a devastating fire, provide urgent aid to families in Gaza, and fund overseas medical treatments for Irish children facing life-threatening illnesses.
Galway emerged as the country’s most generous county, followed by Limerick, Cork, Waterford and Dublin making up the top five.
Commenting on the findings, GoFundMe CEO, Tim Cadogan said: "The Irish people’s incredible kindness and willingness to help others, even during challenging times, continues to inspire.
"Whether donating €5 or €500, every act of generosity creates a ripple effect of hope and change.
"This year’s inspiring fundraisers are a testament to the Irish spirit — resilient, compassionate, and unwavering in its support of those in need."
