The BSc (Honours) in Food Business is a four-year programme, allowing students to develop an extensive range of practical and critical thinking skills in the areas of food studies, food science, business, and product development cycle.
All aspects of the programme are linked to the food industry, with students to gain valuable insights into the industry’s supply chains, entrepreneurship, and sustainable practices through a blend of academic and practical learning.
Meanwhile, Coillte has announced the launch of its 2025 Forestry Scholarship Programme.
The scholarship provides financial support for students pursuing a full-time, third level forestry programme at University College Dublin or South East Technological University (SETU).
Offering up to €20,000 per recipient across their degree, alongside paid summer placements and career opportunities with Coillte, the scholarship was created to address the growing need for skilled professionals to support Ireland’s environmental and economic sustainability.
Students Áine O'Dwyer, Mia Sibbald, and Alex Power, now in their first semester at SETU, are the inaugural recipients of the programme.
The launch of the 2025 Forestry Scholarship comes amid growing interest in forestry as a career, as suggested by a recent RED C survey commissioned by Coillte.
It found that 60% of 18 to 34-year-olds view a career in the forest and wood sector as 'attractive'.
Applications for the 2025 scholarship programme are now open and more information can be found online at www.coillte.ie.
