RTÉ has 17 of the 20 most-listened to radio programmes in Ireland, according to the latest JNLR listenership figures.
The figures also show that 3.8 million adults tuned into Irish radio stations each week from October 2023 to September 2024, with the average listener tuning in for over four hours a day.
remains Ireland’s most listened to radio programme with 465,000 listeners, while is the second most listened to programme in the country, with 342,000 listeners tuning in every weekday from 10am-12 noon.
RTÉ Radio 1 remains the only station with a weekly reach of over one million listeners, with gains of 2,000 listeners.
However, Bauer Media Audio Ireland, which includes Today FM, Newstalk, 98FM, SPIN1038, SPIN South West, and Cork’s Red FM, says it is now the largest media radio group in Ireland. It has a weekly audience of 2.26 million while its daily listenership stands at 1.51 million.
The figures show RTÉ's radio services reach over two million adults or 47% of the adult population every week.
Newstalk retains its status as the second most listened to radio station in the country with 508,000 listeners daily, up 42,000 in the last year. The station's Pat Kenny Show retains its position as the most listened to show on commercial radio with 241,000 listeners tuning in daily.
Meanwhile, over on Today FM, Ian Dempsey has the largest audience with a listenership of 209,000.

“RTÉ broadcasts 17 of the top 20 radio programmes in Ireland across a wide variety of genres including News and Current Affairs, Music and Entertainment, and Sport."
RTÉ personalities who have increased their listenership include Brendan O’Connor, who has 342,000 listeners — up 7,000 year on year — on Saturday and 339,000 on Sunday, up 16,000.
Oliver Callan, whose RTE Radio One morning show now has 338,000 listeners each day, is also up as is Liveline with Joe Duffy, who has increased his listenership by 5,000 to 307,000.
(O’Callaghan) has risen by 28,000 to 300,000 listeners while has 188,000 listeners on Sunday, which is a year-on-year increase of 20,000.
Among the biggest winners at Bauer was Today FM’s Ray Foley who has a listenership of 169,000, up by 14,000.
