Junior Cycle exam results will be issued to students this year on Wednesday, October 18, the Minister for Education has confirmed.
Norma Foley confirmed this year’s release date on Monday morning.
Meanwhile, the second round of college place offers is expected to be issued on Monday afternoon.
The 2023 issue date for Junior Cycle results is earlier than last year, when students received their results in late November, but remains much later than in previous years.
Results will be issued to students’ school on Wednesday, October 18, and students can also access their results online from 4pm on that date.
This online service is not intended to replace the results service and advice provided by schools at results issue time, according to the State Examinations Commission (SEC).
Due to a combination of a much-improved examiner supply situation, as well as the use of online marking in almost all Junior Cycle subjects, it was possible to deliver results five weeks earlier than last year, according to the SEC.
“The SEC is extremely grateful to those teachers who marked for us this year, and indeed to all those who undertook a variety of roles in the state examinations over the 2022/23 school year,” it said in a statement.
The exams authority also confirmed on Monday that Leaving Cert appeals results will be issued to students on Friday September 29.
According to the exams body, the issue date will ensure that the Leaving Certificate appeals integrate with the process for entry to higher education through the CAO.
The CAO will be issuing its Round 5 offers on Tuesday, October 3.
Meanwhile, the second round of college place offers is expected to be issued this afternoon to students.
The Round 2 CAO offers will be issued to students at 2pm on Monday afternoon.
