Gladiator II star and Kildare man Paul Mescal was spotted in Cork this weekend with American singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams.
Here’s everything you need to know about the couple.
Gracie Abrams is a 25-year-old singer-songwriter from Los Angeles. She is the daughter of filmmaker JJ Abrams and producer Katie McGrath.
Having been interested in music from a young age, Abrams dropped out of Barnard College in New York in 2018 to focus on her passion.
A year later, she released her debut single .
In 2023, Abrams released her debut album, , with a deluxe edition released later that year.
That same year, she opened on a number of shows in the US leg of Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour. She returned to the tour in late 2024 for the final US and Canadian leg, and performed at the very last Eras show in Vancouver.
While there has been no concrete evidence on how the pair met, some sources have suggested there was a previous fling before now.
One person told DeuxMoi in May: “Word on the street is that Paul broke Gracie’s heart late last year. His fans think they met in London after he followed someone on her tour during her London show and their Instagram ‘flirtationship.’ This was around the time he was active on [dating app] Raya and going on lots of dates.”
By June, however, the pair were spotted at BRAT Restaurant in London on what appeared to be a date. A month later, they were photographed while shopping together in Mayfair.
In August, more photos of the couple appeared online, but this time they are spotted holding hands. A source tells that Abrams and Mescal have “been hooking up” and it’s “still in the early stages”.
In October, Mescal is spotted in the crowd at both Abrams’s show in New York and the Eras Tour in Miami.
It was Abrams’s turn to support Mescal in November at the premiere in LA, with the couple making their first official appearance together.
Since then, the couple have been spotted out and about together, with a source telling they are “the real deal” and are at “the top of their game and always in communication”.
The latest spotting of the couple was in none other than Clonakilty over the weekend.
Dressed in dark clothes and caps, the couple were assumingly trying to keep a low profile as they did a food shop in Scally’s Supervalu.
Abrams and Mescal were happy to chat to the staff, however, with one staff member posting photos of the encounter to TikTok saying: “Tryna act cool but Gracie Abrams and Paul Mescal walked into the shop and asked me where the eggs were."
It has since been rumoured that the pair were heading to Mescal’s cottage outside of Schull, which he purchased in 2022.
