The craic was had by Limerick band Hermitage Green and American actor Paul Rudd who enjoyed a sing-song and some pints at a Dublin pub on Thursday.
The band had slipped out for a quiet pint after their sound check at the Olympia Theatre ahead of their gig at the venue when they bumped into the actor who was filming a new movie in the capital.
The Hollywood actor was spotted filming scenes around Temple Bar on Thursday morning as commuters made their way to work.
Taking to Instagram, the band shared a video of them singing popular tune ‘The Parting Glass’ for the actor.
The band said: “We finished sound check in the Olympia yesterday and slipped out for a quiet pint of Guinness and a poitín chaser.
If anyone sees Paul Rudd walking around Dublin wearing a Hermitage Green tshirt go up and say hello to him, he’s a lovely fella.
"And Paul if you’re reading this - you forgot to give us the 15 euro for it.”
Vocalist and guitarist with the band Dan Murphy thanked all who attended last night’s gig, saying: “I can’t get the smell of poitín and Paul Rudd out of my clothes this morning”.
The band will play the Róisín Dubh in Galway on December 20 and December 21, Cork City Hall on December 22 and The Hub in Kilkenny on December 26.
