Sunshine and style savvy were the order of the day as Linda Smyth and Robert (Rob) Lipsett tied the knot in Spain.
The bride, from Kildare, and groom, from Dublin, are based in Marbella where they have renovated a villa.
They welcomed family and friends from Ireland and across the globe as they said “I do” in an outdoor ceremony in the Boho Club resort with 100 guests in attendance.
Raising toasts afterwards at the al-fresco reception at the venue were Linda’s parents Margaret and Martin Smyth and Rob’s parents, Theresa and Robert Snr Lipsett, Linda’s sister Rebecca Vucic and Rob’s sisters Avila, Sarah, Rosalind Lipsett.
The bride’s friends Keadie Reilly, Karla Duckworth, Lauren McCarthy, Kate Walsh and Simona Gagyte, were by her side also while Rob had the support of his pals Mike Thurston, Louis Armstrong and Merijn Schoenber.
Linda, a content creator and fashion designer who shares style and beauty advice, dazzled in two wedding dresses during the event.
For the ceremony, the bride wore an elegant Mikaella gown, which she purchased in The White Room, Mullingar, and changed into an Aston Bridal dress for the reception, which she sourced online.
Linda, whose hair was styled at Marbella salon Bardou, did her own makeup.
“I have a lot of experience in bridal makeup and feel most confident when I do it myself. I went for a natural, soft glam,” she says.
The bride has worked in Melbourne and London as a professional makeup artist and has also designed her own clothing brand “A Girl To Die For”.
Rob, a YouTuber, fitness coach, content creator and entrepreneur, who runs the company Lipsett Fitness, an online training platform, was dapper in a suit by Bond Brothers, Dublin.
Linda and Rob became an item six years ago, in October 2018.
“I was home visiting Ireland from London where I was living at the time. We met at Rob’s house party in Dublin through our mutual friends. We always kind of knew of each other so we had lots to talk about and hit it off straight away,” says Linda.
Rob proposed in Capri, Italy last year “We had a beautiful view from our balcony, and before dinner, he asked me to wait outside, saying he was going inside to get some Aperol Spritz,” says Linda.
But Rob returned with a sparkler instead of the sparkling tipple. “He also got the whole thing on video which we love to rewatch now and again! Capri is such a magical island and now it has a very special place in our hearts,” says Linda.
The couple envisioned their big day as an elegant summer garden party, adds the bride.
“The venue captured this vision beautifully, providing the perfect setting. Our guests embraced the atmosphere, dressed in soft pastels and neutrals that blended seamlessly with the surroundings,” says Linda.
“We poured our hearts into designing a ceremony space that felt romantic and enchanting — delicate white chairs, a grand arch with white roses, and a scattering of petals down the aisle, creating a scene similar to a fairytale.”
Both had friends arrive from across the globe, including Australia, America, London and New Zealand.
“This made the day extra special along with having our nearest and dearest from Ireland present,” adds Linda.
“The sun was shining for the whole day and we got a perfect sunset. It was the most special day of our lives — being surrounded by everyone we love.”
Amali Studios and John Mark Films captured the big day on camera and Caitlin Grant Design created the décor.
The newlyweds relaxed in Marbella after the wedding and then holidayed in Miami, Florida.
