They both love music, so it was only fitting that Dublin couple Tara Lambe and Martyn Moore’s paths crossed at an Aslan gig.
That was 14 years ago and toes were tapping when the Coolock natives exchanged vows recently.
“We first met in Liz Delaney’s pub in 2010 when Aslan were playing there, and our first date was in Wright’s café bar in Swords,” says Tara.
Five years later, she and Martyn celebrated an extra-sparkling festive season. “Martyn proposed at home, on Christmas Eve 2015,” she says.
Tara, a hairstylist, and Martyn, a builder, are now living in Clonshaugh, Dublin, and were married by the priest from their own parish, Kilmore, Fr Roland Edey Ntambang, in St Mary’s Church, Lordship, Ballymascanlon, Dundalk, Co Louth.
Nearby Ballymascanlon Hotel & Golf Resort was the venue for their reception, where family and friends gathered to congratulate them.
These included both sets of parents, Joan and Stephen Lambe and Veronica Moore and Paul O’Brian.
Tara chose her friends Stephanie Buckley and Kim Kavanagh to be her bridesmaids while Martyn’s cousin Paul McMillan and Tara’s brother Raymond Lambe were his groomsmen.
Their daughter Daisy, 11, was the junior bridesmaid and their son Zach, 5, was the pageboy.
“We had wanted a small, intimate wedding — it just got so big when we tried to write our list of close friends and family, so we ended up with 150 guests,” says Tara.
But the bride says that didn’t stop the occasion from being an “amazing” one: “Everything went so smoothly, thanks to the hotel staff and entertainment too. Everybody said it was the best wedding they were at with no dull moments.”
Tara looked stylish in a Suzanne Neville dress she bought at the Sharon Hoey bridal boutique in Dublin.
Hairstylist Michaela Devlin ensured Tara’s hair was picture-perfect and Makeup by Gill was the bridal makeup artist.
Sebastian from Art Wedding Photography (artweddingphotography.eu) was behind the camera and O’Neill’s florist, Carlingford, created the floral décor.
The newlyweds enjoyed a honeymoon in South Africa complete with a safari.
The bride and groom live in Dublin. “We’d bought our home a few years before the wedding,” says Tara.
