If you’re looking for an unusual Santa experience this festive season, check out Douglas Village Shopping Centre, Cork.
The man of the moment will soon be setting up home in a custom-crafted tipi, surrounded by a miniature village, Christmas trees, and a market selling roasted chestnuts, hot chocolates, and other seasonal treats.
Santa is expected to arrive at 12pm on Saturday, November 23.
All children who visit Santa will leave with a gift, and Santa’s elves will be on hand to take pictures.
The event has been designed to be fully accessible, and proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to Enable Ireland.

In a recent survey commissioned by the Irish Patients Association, 55% of parents stated that their children had to stay home from school in the past year due to flu or flu-like conditions.
Some 49% also said that this had led to their children missing out on important learning opportunities and school activities.
The association has launched its Flunion campaign in response, to raise awareness about vaccinating children against the flu.
It is encouraging parents and guardians to bring children aged two to 17 to their local pharmacy or GP to receive a free nasal flu vaccine.
