He stole the nation’s heart when he appeared on
and introduced us to the concept of a virtual hug during the pandemic. Now, 10-year-old Adam King has written his first book.is a fun-filled story set in Waterford during the festive season. It tells the tale of a friendly elf who finds himself faced with the task of saving Christmas.
Santa’s helper experiences challenges along the way and, in the process, learns the value of friendship, determination, and optimism.

Meet Simon the sloth, a new plush teddy created by 12-year-old Oisin from Greystones.
A few years ago, Oisin’s great-aunt gave him a Tesco Christmas teddy.
He loved it so much that he was inspired to design one of his own. He drew Simon the sloth and asked Tesco if it could bring him to life.
Tesco did just that, and now 40,000 Simons are for sale in its stores at €5 each.
Simon also features on a Christmas card, which is available for €2.
The proceeds from the sale of the teddies and cards will be donated to the Children’s Health Foundation, which supports sick children and the families of those attending Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght, and Connolly hospitals.
Santa and his North Pole GAA team are setting up a festive training camp in Croke Park.
Children are invited to join them for a unique experience on selected dates from Saturday, November 23 to Sunday, December 22.
It will involve a behind-the-scenes look at the North Pole GAA dressing rooms where football and hurling stars tog out on game day and Christmas challenges such as snowball throwing in the skills zone.
Children will also get to draft their Christmas wishlist before stamping it with Croke Park’s official Sam and Liam stamps, and posting it from the GAA Museum’s post box.
Finally, they will meet Santa, take photos, and receive a small GAA-themed gift.
Tickets to the Santa Experience start at €17 and include Croke Park GAA Museum access. Available from crokepark.ie/santa.

Bump to Boobie is a new free guide that aims to support mums through their first six weeks of breastfeeding.
Some 80% of expectant mothers go into the hospital hoping to breastfeed, but 30% leave doing so.
Breastfeeding advocate and founder of e-commerce business Mama’s Boobie Box, Petrina O’Halloran, wants this to change.
She teamed up with lactation consultant and midwife Regina Kincaid from kindestmilk.com to write the guide.
It covers issues such as how to get your baby to latch, how to spot breastfeeding issues and when you need to seek professional help.
To receive the guide, visit the support page of mamasboobiebox.com and enter the date from which you want the guide to start.
You will receive your first email on that day, followed by another on days two, three, five, and seven.
After that, you’ll receive five weekly emails, bringing you up to week six. You will likely be a much more confident breastfeeding mum by this stage.
