Nature’s help

Many children develop eczema as children and parents often struggle to know how best to soothe their children’s irritated skin. Lynn Shead was once one of those parents. But as a herbalist, the mother of three was able to come up with a practical solution.

She created One for All Balm, which helps with conditions such as eczema, insect bites and minor cuts. Like all of the skincare products that Shead makes under her Nature’s Alchemy brand, it’s handmade in small batches in Co Waterford. It uses only the highest-quality natural ingredients and is made to suit the most sensitive skin.

It costs €19.95 and it’s available from www.naturesalchemy.ie

Boost immunity

Now that the kids are back in school, it’s about to be the start of cold and flu season. Having up to 30 children share a classroom for six hours a day is the ideal way to spread germs and viruses.

Revive Active Junior is an Irish-made supplement that aims to enhance your child’s immunity, all while boosting the energy and mental performance they need for school. It has 22 active ingredients including 12 vitamins, six minerals, four fruit and vegetable powders, beta glucans, fibre and live gut-friendly bacteria.

Best of all, it’s entirely flavourless. Every morning, add one sachet to 100ml of water, your child’s favourite juice or smoothie, yoghurt, or cereal, and stir to dissolve.

This product is designed to support the heart health, brain performance, healthy bone development, and immune systems of four—to 12-year-olds. It costs €18.95 for 20 sachets, and for a limited time only, you can get 20% extra free. A teen version is also available, containing the essential vitamins, minerals, prebiotics, and fibre.

Stretching away

VOYA Mama Care Body Oil is a must-have product for mums-to-be. This stretch mark-minimising body oil works by protecting and strengthening the skin. It contains seaweed, which hydrates and tones, as well as jojoba and olive fruit oils, which soften the skin and make it more supple.

VOYA is an Irish skincare company that uses all-natural ingredients. This product has proven to be a hit with pregnant women who want to support their skin through the changes it will undergo pre- and post-partum.

It costs €47 and makes for a great gift.

Kinvarra workshop

Calling all children who like to clown around.

The Kinvarra Community Centre in Galway is hosting a series of multilingual circus workshops for families with kids aged from three to six.

These workshops will take place from 10.30 am. on Saturdays, September 7, 14, and 21.

Over the course of a fun-filled hour, children and adults will create circus routines that involve rolling balls, balancing feathers, and blowing colourful scarves, all while discovering the different languages spoken by the various families in the room.

These workshops are free but it’s recommended that families book in advance at www.eventbrite.com
