The full line-up of the next series of
has been confirmed as meteorologist Joanna Donnelly was revealed as the final contestant for the series.Donnelly has been a meteorologist for Met Éireann for 25 years and authored
which won a Children’s Book of the Year Award in 2019.She will take to the dance floor with newcomer Maciej Zieba from Poland who has been competing in Latin American and Ballroom dancing since the age of five and is a former student of fellow
pro dancer Robert Rowiński.Donnelly joins a cast of other public figures who have teamed up with this year’s line-up of professional dancers to perform a different dancing genre every week, from the Charleston to hip hop.
Those announced for the upcoming series on Friday’s
included broadcaster and Ireland AM presenter Elaine Crowley who will take to the floor with Ukrainian pro dancer Denys Samson, celebrity chef Kevin Dundon who will be guided by newcomer Rebecca Scott, Olympic gold pommel horse medallist Rhys McClenaghan who is teaming up with Laura Nolan who has been a Dancing with the Stars stalwart since 2020, actress Yasmin Seky who will partner with Italian pro dancer Simone Arena, and social media personality Kayleigh Trappe who will join forces with Irish pro dancer Ervinas Merfeldas.Also taking to the dancefloor in this series will be Eurovision singer Mickey Joe Harte who will team up with new pro dancer Daniela Roze, Irish taekwondo Olympian Jack Woolley who will partner with seasoned Australian pro dancer Alex Vladimirov who is making her Irish debut following a five-season stint on Dancing with the Stars Australia, comedian Gearóid Farrelly who will join forces with the talented English pro dancer Stephen Vincent,
actor Danny O’Carroll who will be put through his paces with Georgian dancing queen Salome Chachua and former Miss Universe Ireland Aishah Akorede who will be dancing alongside her Polish pro dancer Robert Rowiński.Each celebrity couple will be scored by an expert panel of four judges and the viewing public at home, with the winning couple claiming the glitter ball trophy at the end of the series.
The series presented by Jennifer Zamparelli and Doireann Garrihy returns to RTÉ One and RTÉ Player on Sunday, January 5 at 6.30pm.
