Coming up for auction on Friday December 6 is a 40-acre farm in the heart of Wexford. The property will be presented in lots in an online auction conducted by Gorey-based agents Quinn Property.
The holding is at Corah, 6km from Ferns, 11km from Enniscorthy and 23km from Gorey. There is good access, with the N80 running a few kilometres to the west and there is ample road frontage.
This is a fertile part of Ireland, with a strong tradition of tillage farming, interspersed with quality grasslands. As such, this property is a microcosm of the overall picture, with fields in grass and stubble at present. According to the selling agent David Quinn, the lands are of excellent quality.
“The lots are divided by the public road,” says Mr Quinn. “This is a unique opportunity to purchase a holding of this size, which is suitable for any agricultural or equine enterprises.”
The farm contains a house, numerous outbuildings and a cattle crush.
- Lot 1 consists of a house on 1.4 acres. The dwelling is a single-storey house with an attic conversion, built in the 1960s and in very good condition. There is ample outdoor parking and a garage. The accommodation extends to circa 100sq m and includes porch, office, kitchen/dining room, back hall, bathroom and five bedrooms;
- Lot 2 is 10.7 acres in stubble;
- Lot 3 contains 27.7 acres in stubble and grass;
- Lot 4 is the entire holding.
The farm is guiding at €800,000, with Lot 1 guiding €300,000.
