Carbery has increased its base milk price for October by 1cpl, excluding VAT. If replicated across the four West Cork co-ops - Bandon, Barryroe, Drinagh and Lisavaird - it will result in an average milk price of 51.75cpl, inclusive of VAT, 0.5cpl SCC bonus and FutureProof sustainability bonus.
A spokesperson the firm said: “Prices continue to be supported by current dairy market performance, particularly in butter and cheese, while demand is steady."
Meanwhile, Tirlán will pay a total of 50.08cpl (including VAT) for October creamery milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein. This is an increase of 1.00 cpl on the payment for September.
The price includes the base milk price of 49.58cpl (including VAT), an increase of 1cpl from September, and the Sustainability Action Payment of 0.5cpl (including VAT) to all qualifying suppliers and equates to an actual farm-gate price of 66.9 cpl (including VAT).
Suppliers are encouraged to register their sustainability actions now on the Tirlán FarmLife website to secure the 0.5cpl for 2025.
The Tirlán Board also confirmed seasonality bonus payments apply to qualifying milk volumes at a rate of 5cpl for December, 7cpl for January and 5cpl for February.
