Located approximately 5km south of the twin villages of Ballineen and Enniskeane in West Cork, a 34-acre farm is new to the market with Bandon-based auctioneer Mark Kelly.
The property is in the townland of Ballinard and has been attracting substantial interest, according to the selling agent. There is currently an offer on the table of €12,500 per acre.
The holding is all in grass and has excellent road frontage onto the southern and western bounds and can also be sold in more than one lot, depending on how interest develops for it.
This part of West Cork has become something of a hotspot in terms of land values in recent years.
An extension of the prosperous Bandon area (Bandon itself is 15km from here while Cork City centre is 45km away), Ballineen also has a major dairy processing facility on its doorstep in the form of the large Carbery Group plant just west of the village.
“It’s gently sloping well-drained land,” says Mark of this executor sale. “We’d expect it to make in excess of €12,500/acre, given the good strong interest in it and the location of the property.”
