Kerry Dairy Ireland and Lakeland Dairies have both announced 2.5cpl increases to their base price.
Kerry Dairy Ireland milk price for September milk supplies is 47.75cpl (Vat Inc) at 3.30% Prot/3.60% Bfat and 52.31cpl at EU Standard Constituents 3.40% Protein and 4.20% Butterfat.
Based on Kerry’s average milk solids for September, it means the milk price return, including VAT and bonuses, is 58.37cpl.
Cheese prices are providing additional support to dairy markets at present, as butter prices have softened marginally from historic highs in recent weeks.
Meanwhile, Lakeland Dairies' base price now sits at 49c/litre for September milk at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein, inclusive of the cop-op's 0.5cpl Sustainability Incentive Payment.
Suppliers north of the border will receive 40.3ppl, also inclusive of the Sustainability Incentive Payment.
A spokesman for the cooperative said: "The global dairy markets remain largely positive at present, having strengthened throughout quarter three. Lakeland Dairies will continue to monitor the markets and will endeavour to support our farmers as best we can.
The cooperative has also introduced a dairy manufactured feed support initiative over the winter months.
The initiative will see a €30/t rebate applied to all Lakeland Dairies dairy manufactured feed purchased by milk suppliers from November 2024 until February 2025.
