Located in North Wexford, 1km to the west of the M11, a 45-acre farm is coming up for auction within the next fortnight.
The property is located in the townland of Scarnagh, near Inch, County Wexford, and will be auctioned online on September 25 through Gorey-based auctioneers Quinn Property.
The lands in question vary in quality — from good quality grassland to more marginal acres that can be improved with investment from the next owners. More intriguingly still, there is a derelict farmhouse and a number of outbuildings coming with the property.
The farm also has the benefit of extensive road frontage onto two public roads. On the auction day, it will be presented in the following lots:
- Lot 1 consists of 8.6 acres of quality grassland, including a derelict farmhouse and outbuildings
- Lot 2 has 13.6 acres of quality grassland.
- Lot 2A will also be presented as a combination of Lots 1 and 2, consisting of 22 acres of quality grassland.
- Lot 3 is 7 acres.
- Lot 4 consists of 3.6 acres.
- Lot 5 is 6 acres.
- Lot 6 is 5.7 acres.
- Lot 7 is the entire 45-acre farm.
With a public auction, it’s never easy to accurately measure the mounting interest, but there have been a good number of enquiries so far, according to auctioneer David Quinn.
“The lands enjoy an excellent location,” says David, “with some road frontage onto the R772… we’re guiding €12-€15,000/acre for lots 1 and 2 and €10,000/acre for the remaining lots.”
