Located close to the dramatic coastline of West Waterford, between Dungarvan and Ardmore, a 36-acre farm is new to the market with Youghal-based auctioneers Noel Mackey & Sons.
It is coming for public auction on Wednesday, September 25, at the Park Hotel in Dungarvan.
The property is in the townland of Ballymacart Upper, 12km from the historic seaside village of Ardmore and approximately 16km from Dungarvan, beside the West Waterford Gaeltacht area of Old Parish.
“It’s lovely land,” says Noel, “and there are lovely sea views from it.”
Access to the holding is good, with generous road frontage onto two minor public roads. “There’s a deep well on the property,” adds Noel, “and there’s also a mains water connection.”
The property is attracting plenty of enquiries so far, the agent says. For a quality piece of land such as this one and of its size, it will fall within the budget of a wide range of suitors. As always with an auction situation, however, it’s difficult to gauge exactly what the reaction will be until the day itself comes.
“We’ll see how it goes,” says Noel. “The whole idea of the auction is for the transparency it offers… It’s ideal for somebody who’s looking for a piece of land to extend their holding or even for those who might want to buy it as an investment, as a lot of people are doing these days.”
This scenic piece of quality pasture should fetch in the region of €15,000/acre.
