You've seen it online and now it's going to be available here for just one week only.

McDonald’s has announced that customers here will be able to try the viral Grimace Shake this month.

The shake, inspired by the McDonaldland character Grimace, was introduced last year in the United States for a limited time to celebrate the character’s 52nd birthday and quickly spread online.

The purple Grimace Shake features a blueberry-flavoured syrup blended with a creamy milkshake base.

After its US launch, TikTok users took part in the #GrimaceShake trend, where they would film themselves trying the drink before cutting to a staged ominous or gruesome situation.

Even celebrities got on board with the trend, such as Courtney Cox, who pretended it turned her dog into a giant ferocious beast.

The shake was launched in Canada in May of this year, before the company announced it would be launching in the UK for the 50th anniversary of the franchise in August.

Coinciding with this is the launch of the Grimace Shake in Ireland for just one week only.

The shake will be available from August 28 to September 3 at participating restaurants in Ireland, at the Drive-Thru or via McDelivery.
