Emma Richmond, managing partner with law firm Whitney Moore in Dublin, has been appointed as chair of the European Leadership Group, reflecting her leadership and dedication to advancing collaboration across the European legal community within Meritas, the global alliance of independent law firms. Emma succeeds Jonathan Polin of Howard Kennedy LLP (London), who has provided outstanding leadership during his term. “It is a privilege to take on this role and to continue fostering strong relationships among Meritas member firms across Europe. I look forward to building on the great work done by my predecessors and collaborating with the group to deliver on key initiatives for our region,” Emma said.
Roger Russell has been appointed as general manager of the new Moxy Cork and Residence Inn Cork. Roger brings a wealth of expertise in hospitality management, catering, and sales. He spent the past 21 years as the general manager and as the deputy GM at The Metropole Hotel. A graduate of the Trainee Manager Development Programme, he joined Moxy in June. The 153-bedroom Moxy Hotel and the 53-bedroom Residence Inn are co-located at Camden Quay, part of a €40m riverside development opened in September. The two Marriott-brand hotels are on a half-acre site developed by the JMK hospitality group, owned by the UK-based Kajani family.
Anamaria Gibbons has been appointed as marketing and communications director with global IT solutions and services provider Logicalis UK&I. With a decade of communications experience at other global IT providers, Gibbons has a mandate to ‘reawaken’ the Logicalis brand in the UK&I market. Key priorities ahead for Gibbons include delivering a strategy that encompasses go-to-market initiatives for networking, infrastructure, cloud, data, and security sectors – all the while supporting growth in a key region for the business. “I’m looking forward to showcasing the many interesting projects and examples of how Logicalis has supported its customers over decades of being a global IT solutions and managed services provider,” she said.
Chris Hawley has been appointed as managing director for Great Britain with The Noledge Group, the Irish and UK-based ERP solution specialist. The group incorporates Envisage, a leading Sage Partner, and OSSM, an Oracle NetSuite Solution Provider. Chris spent the last 25 years with leading software company Sage, most recently as senior commercial manager. Here, he designed and developed technology solutions to support evolving customer needs, including the market-leading Sage 200. In addition, Chris has established and led several financial services and consultancy businesses. Chris will strengthen the The Noledge Group’s presence in Great Britain, assembling a team of experts to deliver its services to SMEs.
Glen Bailey has been appointed as head of commercial and energy services with clean energy company Energia. He has been with Energia for ten years, across various customer and digital transformation roles. Prior to joining Energia, he worked in a number of roles within the telecoms and agri-food sectors. In his new role, Glen will be responsible for the strategic, organisational, performance and operational leadership of the Customer Solutions commercial sales and energy services propositions within ROI under the Energia brand. Energia is part of Energia Group which supplies over 828,000 homes and businesses across the island of Ireland with green electricity and natural gas.
Aidan Gavin has joined Ronan Group Real Estate as chief investment officer. Previously the head of Cushman & Wakefield in Ireland for the past 12 years, he brings 26 years of commercial property experience. He has been involved in large corporate occupier deals — such as large lettings like the Salesforce HQ, Meta HQ and Mastercard; and developments such as the Glass Bottle masterplan, the Heuston masterplan, Ceannt redevelopment in Galway, and Opera Square in Limerick. He has also helped negotiate large capital market deals and he has advised international investors on their expansion into Ireland including Goldman Sachs, Apollo Global, Oaktree, Carval, Blackstone, and Orpea.
