Here is a selection of people starting new roles with Data Edge, Mazars, Premier Lotteries Ireland, Bird & Bird, Certa and MedoSync.

Naomi Byrne has been appointed as administrative and compliance manager with Data Edge, the network optimisation specialist and application performance management company. She will oversee office operations, HR, health and safety compliance and ISO standards. She will manage administration for the Data Edge team, scheduling technical sessions with clients and suppliers. Naomi will also co-ordinate event management for the company, including workshops for clients. Naomi has previously worked for Whitewater, a sustainable water treatment company in Bray, and with Gaelite Signs as quality management co-ordinator. Naomi recently completed her training and holds certification for ISO:27001 Lead Auditor and ISO:27001 Advanced Risk and Implementation.

Johnny Meehan has been appointed as head of sustainability consulting with audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm Mazars. He brings 20 years of expertise to his new role. He has advised clients in sectors including financial services, utilities, food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, med-tech, construction, transport, and not-for-profit. He has held senior roles at Kellogg and Cadbury Schweppes. Johnny holds a Bachelor of Business and Law from UCD, as well as a Master of Business in Manufacturing Systems and Supply Chain Management, Smurfit Graduate School of Business, UCD; an MSc in Environmental Sustainability, UCD; and a Master of Studies in Sustainability Leadership, University of Cambridge.

Sarah Jennings has been appointed as chief marketing officer with Premier Lotteries Ireland, the operator of the Irish National Lottery since 2015. Sarah brings a wealth of experience from almost ten years at Sky, where she played a pivotal role in shaping and driving the success of Sky’s product range. Most recently, Sarah spearheaded the launch of the WOW streaming service at Sky Germany. Sarah’s background also includes holding leadership roles in the telecoms and financial services sectors with prominent companies such as AXA, Aviva, Eir, and O2. While with O2, she developed and executed successful marketing and customer value management (CVM) strategies.

Michael Finn has been appointed as head of country in Ireland with law firm Bird & Bird, taking over from partners Roger Bickerstaff and Sally Shorthose after two years in the role. Michael joined the firm as a partner in 2023 following the opening of Bird & Bird’s Irish office in 2022. Since then, he has led some of the firm’s most valuable clients on IP litigation, commercial disputes, technology and life sciences matters. “I’m excited to lead the firm in Ireland, the location of choice for multinational companies as they seek access to the EU market through a business-friendly, English-speaking, common law jurisdiction,” said Michael.

Orla Stevens has been appointed as managing director with fuel supplier Certa, part of DCC plc, promoted from her role as commercial director. She has also previously held senior roles at SSE Airtricity, Bank of Ireland, Vodafone, O2 and Car Trawler. She succeeds Andrew Graham, who has been appointed as MD of Mobility at DCC Energy. Certa has a network of 49 unmanned, pay@pump forecourts and 29 home heating depots. Certa formed in 2022 when Emo Oil, Campus Oil and Jones Oil, all owned by DCC, rebranded under one name. Orla was instrumental in this process. Based in Portlaoise, the firm employs 370 people nationwide.

Patrick Rork has been appointed as strategic adviser with medtech start-up MedoSync. Formerly VP of healthcare consulting for Accenture in the United States, Patrick brings 30 years of experience in private and public health in the US and UK. He has held lead roles across healthcare information technology solutions and services in public and private areas, including government payer programmes, revenue cycle management and electronic health records. MedoSync provides a secure platform that integrates hospital and insurer systems enabling accurate, efficient and real-time medical billing. Since its launch in 2021, its solution has been used to submit more than 150,000 claims, worth €30m.
